Lawmakers within the Home of Representatives on Tuesday distanced themselves from an alleged plan to question the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.
There had been reviews (not from Naija Information) that the Northern Caucus within the decrease chamber has the intention to question Gbajabiamila over the controversial Water Sources Invoice.
The controversial Water Sources Invoice, which seeks to deliver all water assets (floor and underground) and the banks of the water sources below the management of the Federal Authorities, was first launched within the eighth Meeting.
The invoice was rejected by the lawmakers within the eighth Meeting.
The invoice was once more reintroduced within the Home of Representatives chamber on June 29.
The lawmaker representing Jibia/Kaita constituency, Sada Jibiya who sponsored the invoice, stated broad consultations have been made for a greater model of the invoice.
Jibiya assured his colleagues that he would withdraw the invoice if there are indications it will negatively have an effect on any part of the nation.
The lawmakers, nevertheless, throughout plenary on Tuesday debunked the report of planning to question Gbajabiamila.
Members of the Home condemned the report, insisting that they’re solidly behind the speaker.
The matter was later referred to the Home Committee on Ethics and Privileges for additional investigation.
